Zuzu African Acrobats at Penn State Mont Alto

Penn State Mont Alto will celebrate Black History Month with a performance by the Zuzu African Acrobats at 7 p.m. on Feb. 17 in the Multipurpose Activities Center on campus. The Zuzu African Acrobats show features high-energy, fast-paced acrobats from Mombasa, Kenya, in feats of pyramid building, limbo, contortion, tumbling and balancing. The public is invited to attend the event free of charge.

An event held in the Heritage Room of the Millstream Café was attended by more than 80 students over the lunch hour on Jan. 27, when Penn State Mont Alto joined the University-wide launch of Stand for State — an initiative that promotes bystander intervention and provides the tools to prevent sexual and relationship violence.

Gettysbureg Rocks Event to Support Penn State Mont Alto

During the Gettysburg Rocks event Feb. 4–6, the live performances of more than 172 bands in and around Gettysburg will help conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and their families. Admission is free at all venues with 100 percent of the donations going to the Four Diamonds Fund in care of Penn State Mont Alto benefiting THON.

Storyteller to honor Dr. King at Penn State Mont Alto

Penn State Mont Alto will honor the legacy of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. when African-American storyteller Dylan Pritchett comes to campus on Jan. 20 to celebrate Dr. King’s speeches and writings. The event begins at 2 p.m. in Wiestling Hall. It is open to the public and free of charge.
