Penn State Mont Alto theater students performed two original, educational puppet shows about saving the rain forest at the invitation of First Lady of Pennsylvania Frances Wolf, during the annual Earth Day Celebration at the governor’s residence on April 22.

Mont Alto to host fifth annual Choral Festival

The Penn State Mont Alto Chorale will host its fifth annual Choral Festival on May 4 in the Multipurpose Activities Center during a grand evening of choral musical performances. The Chorale will be joined by five other local schools, totaling about 185 student voices.

Chorale to perform music from stage and screen

The Penn State Mont Alto Chorale will perform “Music from the Stage and Screen, Take Three,” from 7 to 8 p.m. on April 28 in the General Studies Auditorium. The performance will feature songs from award-winning musicals and a couple classic pop songs. The Chorale will also acknowledge the 80th anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz" with a beautiful arrangement of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

How Handel wrote 'Messiah' is topic of Evening Talk

On April 3, the Evening Talk Series at Penn State Mont Alto will feature “The True Story of How and Why Handel Wrote ‘Messiah.’” The talk will be presented by William (Bill) Rolar, lecturer in music, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the General Studies Auditorium on the Mont Alto campus. If weather permits, a Star Party will follow.

Penn State University Libraries Short Stories “Lost and Found” Fall 2018 contest winners and honorable mentions represent a wide range of creative writers University-wide. Nine student honorees range from first-year through senior undergraduates to a doctoral student and represent six campuses and six colleges, and five faculty/staff honorees represent three campuses.
